How did Tie That Binds begin?
After completing my degree in graphic design, I eagerly dove RIGHT into planning the wedding I'd been dreaming of my whole life. I completely fell in love with the process of shaping our wedding day and telling our love story, and never stopped doing wedding paper since! That was 7 years ago, and my job has only gotten better.
Flash forward to 2016, and custom paper suites have become the heart and soul of Tie That Binds. In the endless sea of options, wedding invitations can feel cookie-cutter and impersonal. It only made sense that I would extend my love of design to others who felt the same about bespoke paper goods.
What do you love most about being a part of the wedding industry?
While I never tire of the romance, I really love pushing expectations and setting trends - I'm constantly working to create designs that get people talking. The best part of my job is sending sketches and getting an email back with lots of heart emojis and exclamation points. Maybe a few tears, too? Mission accomplished, I say (and it happens all the time!)
Best tip you have for couples planning their wedding
Weddings don't have rules these days. Dream big and don't worry about what you SHOULD do - what do you WANT to do? What would be the most meaningful to you both as a couple?
What sets your business apart?
My clients are always raving about how FUN it was to design their wedding invitations. It's important to me that the process is easy, stress-free, and enjoyable. With so many moving pieces involved it can be easy to stress about it all coming together. I work hard to keep my clients excited, on track, and smiling.
